Hello everyone, for today’s post I wanted to write about something a little bit different – and tell you what the month of February means to me. I don’t know about you, but whatever month it is, it has a different meaning to me, and I have different feelings about different months. I don’t particularly like this month, I won’t lie, but there are positives. So, here I’m going to share with you the feelings this month creates, and give you a little insight into the goals I’m working towards achieving.
For me, February is the month I start to feel really optimistic, motivated, and positive about the year. I do, like most people, set new year’s resolutions in January for the upcoming year; but for me, January is such a long, dark, cold month. Also, I feel as though through January, with Christmas being such an eventful holiday, January is more about getting back into the swing of things, and thinking about and setting your goals for the upcoming year. Whereas, now in February the sun is setting later, the weather isn’t quite as depressing, and I start to feel excited about the spring and summer months, and really driven to work on the goals I set myself.
So with these feelings on my back, this month is the month I’m starting with my clean, healthy eating and more exercise to get my body to my summer goal. It’s the month I’m feeling motivated, and wanting to start plan my university assignments for the final deadlines of the year. And it’s the month that I start to feel more positive about life more generally. Also in terms of my goals, as the weather brightens up I aim to get a lot more fashion posts up on my blog.
I would definitely say that spring is my most positive time of the year; it’s a time when I’m really in the swing of battling through my studies, when I’m motivated and excited for the upcoming summer, and in terms of my health I’m active, and eating well, not to mention the glorious sunny days, as opposed to constant rain and clouds. And I think the key thing about February is that it’s the shortest month, meaning that it’s the final little hurdle out of the winter months, and into the brightness of spring. For me, planning out my Spring and Summer is something that heavily occurs during this month; and the act of planning really helps me keep feeling excited, motivated, and positive about the daily stresses and tasks.
Also, there’s a key meaningful date in February which is, of course, Valentines day. And this really doesn’t mean you have to be in a ‘lovey dovey’ relationship, or even in a relationship at all. It’s about celebrating the love and support you have around you, whether its partners, friends, family members; you name it. I love embracing celebrations and spreading the positivity and meaning for them. This valentines day will be particularly special for me, given the fact that it’s the first one I’ll be celebrating with my boyfriend. I think it’s lovely to have a day of celebration to just bear in mind the love and support you have around you, and just show your appreciation for those people; and no, that doesn’t mean you have to go all out on the presents etc.
So there we have it, a little insight into what this month means to me, and a few of my goals I’m going to be working towards. And in light of this positivity, I’d like to wish you all a good month! What does this month mean to you?
