Holiday Prep

Hello everyone! For today’s post I wanted to put together the main preparation I do, without fail before I go away on holiday. My first holiday of the summer is just one month away, and as much as the excitement is starting to really kick in, so is the reality that I need to get myself organised!

Lists: making a list of what clothes, make-up, toiletries, accessories or whatever that I am wanting to take with me on holiday is the first step of me getting ready. Once my list is made I can then work out what I need to buy, and what I’ve already got, rather than heading out to the shops with no clue what I really need. I would definitely consider myself an organised person, and I can’t deny that I love a reason to whip out my super pretty notebook and pen and make a list. A list will also seriously comes in handy for me when I’m attempting to pack my case, worrying whether I’ve forgotten about something; because let’s face it and raise our hands that yep we’ve all been there!

Sunbeds: I know that this isn’t going to be a step of preparation for everyone, and I’m totally aware of the cautions involved with this, but without this preparation I find myself becoming burnt, or even getting sunstroke when I enter the heat. A few sessions prepares my skin to enter the head for a week or so, so for me it works and is prep I’ve grown to love and find relaxing.

Camera: This is absolutely essential for me, and I’m sure that many of you reading this will totally get where I’m coming from. I absolutely love capturing memories, however big or small, so particularly when I’m going away I want to photograph every moment, so making sure my camera is good to go, with plenty of memory and charge is essential.

Online check in and planning the route: this step seriously makes the day of travel much more stress free, which is how you want to be starting your relaxing break away. As soon as it’s available, I’ll be doing an online check-in for our flights, to minimize, what could possibly be a crazy few hours in the airport, so that it’s as much of a hassle-free transition as possible. Also, booking a taxi in advance, or sorting out how to travel to the airport or wherever your destination may be is handy. Although I’ve never been in the situation, I can’t think of anything worse than being in a rush to the airport.

Hair, nails and body prep: I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this, but before I go for  a break that I’ve been excited about for such a long time, I want to be looking my best: so a trim of my hair, getting my nails done, and giving myself a long pamper is always in order.

Get a drink and… Relax… The final step to kick starting your holiday, grab your favourite drink, sit back and relax. Because you did it, you’re packed, you’re on your way, the need for  all that organization is over, and it’s time to just enjoy yourself!

I hope that you enjoyed this post, and hopefully I’m not the only one who can’t contain my excitement for summer plans. Do any of these preparation steps sound familiar to you?
