The Suede Dress and Pizza

Hello everyone! For today’s post I thought I’d do a mix of both fashion and lifestyle; and let you have a nosy at what I wore for celebrating a family member’s birthday. I don’t know about you, but give me a good outfit and a meal and drinks out and I’m going to be one happy girl.

Outfit:

Suede Dress, White Jacket and Black Court Heels: Marks and Spencer
Black Handbag: Radley

I absolutely love this suede dress, it’s one of those dresses that you can wear all year round. In the winter I like to wear it with a turtleneck underneath and with a thicker coat; but it’s just as wearable now in the summer with a thin jacket. I love the tie detailing of the bow – I love my collars and the way it ties just makes it look that bit more elegant. This white jacket is always my go-to during the summer months for a dressed up look – it’s nice and light weight, and it matches with so many things – dresses, jeans, trousers – you name it.

Time for pizza – we headed to Pizza Express; which has become so known to me over the years and it never disappoints. One of the best things about this time was that Pizza Express have an amazing offer to give a free bottle of prosecco when it’s someones birthday – I mean can there be a better offer?!

To start we got two sharing platters to share between the four of us: we got the Dough Balls Dopio, and the the Classic Italian Antipasto, and a little side of Polenta chips which can I just say now, tasted absolutely amazing.

The Dough Balls Dopio came with three dips; pesto, garlic butter, and pestorissa – and I liked the variety that the sharing dough ball platter offered rather than the individual dough ball starter that comes with just the garlic butter.

The Classic Italian Antipasto platter came with Finnochiona, Coppa, Milano salami and Spicy Calabrese sausage sided with olives, marinated aubergine, mozerella, roasted tomatoes, peppers and Gran Milano cheese. And of course the dips – garlic butter and a tomato dip.

For Mains we all got our own pizza – and oh my goodness I was so so full after getting through mine – in fact my mum was so full she had to bring some of hers back home with her.

Photographed below is mine and my mums pizza – it’s all I managed to get pictures of. My mum went for the Nicoise on the Romana base – this is topped with tuna, aanchovies, surfine capers, black olives, tomato, free-range egg, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, rocket, lemon and parsley. I love the romana base its much thinner and crispier and I just prefer that to a deep based pizza.

I went for the Pollo ad Astra again on the Romana base. This was topped with sweet peppadew peppers, red onion, mozzarella, tomato, cajuin spices and garlic oil. For me it was a toss between either this one, or the Pollo Forza – which is what my dad got, but due to the fact he said that one was super spicy I think I made the right choice by going for the Pollo Astra. Mine had enough of a kick, but with lovely sweet flavours at the same time, and certainly wasn’t too hot for me, seeming as I don’t particularly like super spicy food.

Although I didn’t go for it this time, I really like the lagerra menu at pizza express – which is a range of pizzas and pastas but with less calories. For instance I think a legerra pizza is perfect for a lunch date – it’s lighter, and definitely doesn’t make me feel quite as guilty – but anyway – there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself now and then, and I’ll always stand by that.

I hope that you enjoyed this post – in between my fashion and beauty content I really like getting up lifestyle posts as well now and then. Thank you so much for reading!
