Transitioning to Spring with a Detailed Skirt

I always find the transition period between two seasons the hardest to dress for, especially the jump from winter to spring. The sun is creeping out more and more, and there’s been a few days of jacket rather than coat weather, but it’s not quite all sunshine and warmth just yet. Here I styled a detailed pretty skirt with a thick high neck top, and cosy cardigan to strive a balance between wanting to start dressing for the spring, whilst keeping warm enough.

Skirt: Miss Selfridge
White textured high neck top: Marks and Spencer Limited Edition
Black cardigan: Hobbs
Necklace: Sainsbury’s TU
Bag: Radley

I picked up this skirt from Miss Selfridge in the sale a couple of weeks ago – at an amazing sale price. Not only was this skirt majorly reduced, but it was also in the buy one-get one free sale, meaning I got this and another skirt for only £12 – an absolute bargain. The colour and design to it feels really spring-appropriate to me, but it’s a thick enough material to keep you warm. This high neck top from Marks and Spencer is something I’ve had for a while now, and find myself wearing it all year round. It sits nicely on the waist area so is great to pair with either a high waisted skirt or jeans like this. As for my Hobbs cardigan, this is something I find so comfortable, warm, cosy and just so easy to throw on over a variety of outfits – whether its jeans and a t-shirt, or a skirt and top like this – you can’t go wrong with it.

What do you think?
