Hello everyone! Last weekend, me and my boyfriend grabbed our train tickets and travelled up to Edinburgh for the weekend – it was a lovely UK city break as a belated birthday present. It was my first ever time visiting Scotland, so I was really looking forward to it – and what a better place for my first visit than the capital.
We stayed in the Ibis South Bridge hotel. It was exactly what we were wanting for a small city break like this – it didn’t break the bank, it was slap bang in the centre meaning we could walk everywhere including back to the train station, and it had everything we needed provided. The south bridge hotel was just a 7 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley station, and only between a five and fifteen minute walk from plenty of shops, restaurants, museums and the sights. Everything was at our fingertips.

On Saturday, after a morning of shopping and a much needed cup of tea, we set about visiting some of the many beautiful sites in Edinburgh. The views of the city were absolutely breathtaking – walking up on to Castlehill to see the view was totally worth having extremely windswept hair.
Night Two Outfit:
Suede dress: Marks and Spencer Limited Edition
On Sunday we visited a handful of museums, strolled around the city, taking in our last few hours of the weekend away before our train back in the evening. We visited the National Museum of Scotland, the Museum of Childhood and the Museum of Edinburgh – all just in the city centre just minutes apart from each other. I love visiting museums, and the National Museum of Scotland was a personal favourite – there was so much to see and learn about.
Have you ever visited this beautiful city?
