Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well. Since I enjoyed putting together my recent post on styling mom jeans I wanted to put together another styling post – this time on how I style my coated jeans. I recently found myself an affordable pair on misguided after wanting a pair for a really long time. I think they’re really flattering and stylish, and can take a simple jeans look to the next level.
Here I’ve created two looks, styling my coated jeans with simple items that, the chances are, you already have in your wardrobe. I love being able to mix and match with my clothes, and I think it’s an important thing to establish in moving towards a more minimalistic wardrobe – having key pieces that you can put together to make a number of looks.
STYLE ONE – Roll neck and blazer
Jeans: Misguided, Striped Roll Neck: Marks and Spencer Limited Edition, Blazer: H&M, Boots: Marks and Spencer
My black blazer is such a staple in my wardrobe, I wear it so frequently and it can pull together a number of different looks. Here, a simple striped turtle neck top with the jeans instantly looks so much more put together once the blazer is thrown into the occasion, creating a smart look. Blazers don’t have to be something pricey too, I picked up this gem for around £25 in H&M a few months ago.
STYLE TWO – Layering a jumper
Jeans: Missguided, Jumper: Boden, Blouse: Marks and Spencer Limited Edition, Boots: Marks and Spencer, Watch: Daniel Wellington
This look is so simple, because a simple jumper and a white blouse are two items that I’m sure most people have in their wardrobes. I love layering jumpers over collared blouses, I love how smart and chic it looks, plus it’s great for extra warmth and comfort. I love styling with monochrome colours, because with a simple base I feel you can then be more statement with makeup, a bag, jewellery, or footwear. Here I wore my trusty black heeled sock boots, but a court heel would work just as well.
