Hello everyone, I hope you’re well. Since I recently posted about my experience with acne over the last few years, I wanted to come back with a post sharing an acne covering minimal makeup look, using a selection of some of my favourite products.
Bareminerals original spf15 foundation – You will have heard me rave about the bareminerals spf15 matte foundation countless times on my blog, but what I don’t mention enough is their original mineral foundation. I love this almost as much as the matte version, but I opt for the original on days when I desire more coverage. So, as this happened to be a day when my skin had various blemishes, I opted for this. It’s breathable and light weight all the same as the matte foundation, but it just offers a higher coverage, I find. I simple tap off some of the powder into the lid, swirl with the full flawless face brush and buff into my skin. I always start with a small amount, and then I can always work another layer into my skin if needs be.
L’oreal true match concealer – You will also have heard me mention this concealer many times over the past year on my blog. It’s such an affordable concealer, that offers great coverage, is easy to blend, and looks nice and natural on my skin. With covering my blemishes, I need a concealer that I can build more than one layer of, where necessary, and for it still to look natural and blend well and this offers just that. I also find it really light weight and breathable, so it doesn’t aggravate my acne.
Bareminerals all over face colour – sunkissed – This all over face colour is such a gem for quick, easy, minimal makeup looks. I love adding just the smallest amount using the flawless face brush on my cheeks and forehead, just to bronze up my face and give me some warmth. I’m fair skinned so I find just the smallest amount of this does a really nice job of warming up my complexion, without looking too much.
Clinique chubby stick sculpting highlight – I love this highlighter – as a long wear, oil free creamy highlighter, it adds a subtle, natural looking glow to the skin. The fact that it’s oil free, light weight and nice and breathable, it applies and stays well on my oily skin type. It definitely doesn’t add too much of a shine, rather is nice and natural looking which I love.
Bareminerlas original mineral veil – I always finish off my face makeup with this powder. Just a light dusting of this using the flawless face brush helps set my makeup and keep my face looking matte and intact for longer. I really notice a difference when I’m wearing this, so it has become a must in my routine.
Clinique high impact mascara – I’ve been loving this mascara for the last few months. It’s the first mascara from Clinique I’ve tried, but since I love so many of their products I knew this wouldn’t disappoint. This mascara is great for adding both volume and length, and maintains lash separation well. I don’t tend to bother with eyeshadow or eyeliner on the daily, so I look for a mascara that can do the talking. I love having definition and length to my lashes and this offers just that. I only need to use one coat of this mascara and I’m good to go.
Bareminerals marvellous moxie lipstick, shade: strip – This was one of the lipsticks what was included in the bareminerals box of wonders advent calendar last year, and I’m a huge fan. It’s such a lovely nude shade, making it perfect for everyday wear. I find the lipstick quality great, they’re really pigmented, long lasting and are nice and moisturising on the lips which is a big plus for me since I have dry lips.
