Autumn, my favourite season of the year. I’m all about layering up, cosy knits and boots. Today I wanted to share my fashion staples for Autumn, the things year on year I always wear.
1. CHUNKY KNITS
Knitwear is an absolute must. I love my chunky knits for Autumn, not only for the much needed warmth and cosiness, but the versatility of a classic jumper or cardigan. This year I’m back into loving chunky, long cardigans – they’re so cosy, and are great to pair with jeans, trousers or a dress. As for jumpers, you’ll most likely find me a in a roll neck.
2. MOM JEANS
Mom jeans are a staple piece you can work with your wardrobe all year round. For Autumn and Winter I love pairing them with a simple jumper, Chelsea boots, and faux leather jacket.
3. CHELSEA BOOTS
Chelsea boots are an all round favourite of mine. I wear mine for all occasions, and they are my most worn Autumn shoes. I picked up these black leather ones from Marks and Spencer recently, and they’re great quality, comfortable, and go with countless outfits.
4. SWEATSHIRTS
Sweatshirts are something I’ve got back into wearing this season, and absolutely loving. They’re so comfortable, and are the perfect balance between t shirt and full on jumper – so are great for the few warmer days we’ve been getting recently. I love wearing them super casual with jeans, or more put together with coated jeans and heeled boots.
5. STATEMENT WATCH
To glam up any simple jumper or sweatshirt, a statement watch is a good way to go. I’m not big on bracelets, so a watch is the perfect for me accessorise. My watch shown above is the Classic Petite Sterling from Daniel Wellington here which is a simple, elegant piece that adds just that little something more to an everyday look.
6. WIDE LEG TROUSERS
Wide leg trousers are a recent style I’ve been getting into. I love the comfort of these ones I picked up from Uniqlo, yet they look stylish and paired with a simple roll neck and cardigan makes a warm, comfortable yet put together look. See the full outfit details of this look here.
7. SKINNY JEANS
Skinny jeans are a given for all year round for me. Black skinny’s are hands down my most worn item. With a blouse and court heels for a night out, jumper and boots for on the daily, they’re always my go-to. For the last year or so I’ve got mine from Marks and Spencer – they’re really affordable, and very similar to the Topshop Joni jeans which I practically lived in back in 2012.
8. TRENCH COAT
My trench coat is my favourite trusty coat for the season. It’s the ultimate coat that makes me feel put together, and is perfect for the weather changes. Mine, below, is from Boden and I love the quality and colour of it.
Trench coats look great with a number of outfits, whether it be dresses, or a simple jumper and jeans for an Autumn walk, like I’ve styled below. I’d love to add a black trench for to my wardrobe too.
