My Goals For 2019

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well. And happy new year to you all, although it is a little belated. It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and written for the blog, and I’ve missed it. The last month has consisted of many university deadlines, and spending time at home with family over the Christmas period. But before it gets too late into the month, I wanted to share my goals for the new year. I prefer not to set strict ‘resolutions’; rather set goals that I am to work towards.

Pass and Graduate from my Masters degree

In December I’m due to graduate from my Masters degree in digital marketing, which I’m determined to do as successfully as I can. One semester in I can say that it’s been challenging, and more time-consuming than I had anticipated but I’m enjoying the challenge, and will continue to work as hard as I can.

Get my first graduate job

As you can assume, my next major goal is to find my first graduate job. I know that it’s unrealistic to assume I’ll be stepping into my dream job post-graduation, but my goal is to introduce myself world of work and find my feet in the future career I wish to pursue.

Quite typical, but I want to make the effort to read more this year. I enjoy reading so much, and I find it a great way for me to switch off and unwind. Although, since starting my masters degree in September I’ve lost a lot of time for it. This year I want to try ditch some of the time I’d be spending endlessly scrolling on Instagram and Netflix binging, and instead getting stuck into some great reads.

Explore new places

I’d love to explore new places and travel more with my other half this year. You won’t see me backpacking for a month, but I’d love to do more weekend breaks away, particularly around Europe. I would love to sit and make a list of places I’d like to visit, and tick them off place by place. Realistically I won’t be visiting a large handful in one year, particularly as I will be continuing to study for my Masters until the end of September, but I intend to plan and organise trips away to select few new places.

Create and Stick to a Gym Plan

I love going to the gym and regularly exercising. For me, it’s crucial for me to de-stress and feel good about myself. Over the last couple of months I’ve been regularly going to spin class at my gym, which I’ve been really enjoying; but this year I would also like to work towards making a more structured plan in terms of weight training. This would never be something I’d be strict about, as I always want to keep the gym as a happy place that I can go and de-stress at, rather than filled with strict goals and pressures. However, I want to work towards having some more goals in mind.

Save Save Save

After finding myself in the world of work, a big aim for me is to save save save – something that as a student has not been a main priority. However, I’ve always had this as an important goal of mine once I’m finished in education. I dream of the day I’ll be able to buy my own house, and for the future chapters my life I’m yet to start.

Continue Blogging

I want to ensure I still continue blogging throughout 2019. This has been my hobby since 2014, and I don’t intend on giving it up any time soon. My blog is my online space where I can share my thoughts and use as my creative outlet. Although I don’t have as much time to sit and write posts as I would like to, and used to, I still have that love and passion for creating content for this channel.

What are your goals for this year?
