I’m certainly guilty of not mixing up my beauty routine very often. Which isn’t a bad thing, of course. Some people love trying out a number of things. I tend to stick with my old favourites I know work for me. With having a history of acne it has always made me slightly more cautious about what I’m putting on my face, and how my skin will react to it. Anyhow, this post is slightly contradictory to my usual trend – as I wanted to share with you some new beauty products I’ve come across that I am absolutely loving.
Some of these products I discovered through my recent Look Fantastic Beauty Box’s, which I recently posted about here. Others I decided to try after doing my browsing and hearing great things about. So here goes.
Bellapierre Peach Blossom Palette
This eyeshadow palette came in this April’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box, and I’ve loved it since. I featured it in My Simple Spring Glowy Makeup Look. It includes such gorgeous shades which remind me of a sunset on holiday. A perfect palette for this time of year in my opinion.
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
I first came across The Ordinary about a year or so ago, after seeing a huge hype online for their wide range of products and affordable prices. You’ll know I’ve had a long history with reoccurring acne, and Azelaic acid was one of the best products I had been prescribed by my doctors – granted this was at a 20% strength as oppose to this product which is at 10%, I’ve found this product to be a perfect addition to my skincare regime in keeping my breakouts at bay. And at only £5.50 I have absolutely no complaints.
The Azelaic Acid suspension is an effective antioxidant, which brightens skin tone, improves texture, and minimises the appearance of blemishes. The best thing about Azelaic acid is it is gentle, and doesn’t cause irritation which many other acids can, and have caused with my skin. Since I’ve used Azelaic acid I’ve seen a real improvement in my skin tone and redness.
Another product I’ve tried and loved from The Ordinary is the salicylic acid. My skin felt and looked smoother.
Dr Lipp Natural Moisturising Colour Lip Tint – Sweet Potato
This product I came across in the May Look Fantastic Beauty box, and the first time I’d heard of this brand too. This lip balm adds a subtle hint of colour to your lips and is super hydrating. A lip balm is something I can’t go a day without, and one that adds a bit of colour is perfect for no makeup days. And let’s be honest, in lockdown – the majority of my days are no makeup days.
Clinique True Bronze
I purchased this bronzer a few months ago and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It is my go-to bronzer – it’s simple, and does the job well. When it comes to bronzer I just want something I can quickly apply to give my face overall warmth. It sits well on my face, and stays matte. You can read more about it and my other makeup favourites from Clinique here.
Magnitone Wipe Out Microfibre Cleansing Cloth
I discovered this product in the May Look Fantastic Beauty box, and what a delight. This microfibre cleansing cloth aims to remove makeup with just water. My favourite way to use it is to use it to remove my makeup, and then go in with my usual face wash afterwards. It’s incredibly soft on the skin, and removes makeup – including eye makeup well. It washes well too which is always a plus, and makes it a long lasting alternative to makeup wipes.
