Review: The Body Shop Tea Tree Skincare

Hello everyone, I hope you’re well. Today I wanted to follow on from my recent post about my experience with acne, and share my thoughts on some products form The Body Shop’s tea tree range that I’ve been using recently. I first tried this range from The Body Shop about three/four years ago, when my skin was at its worse. And, since I have had a relapse I was drawn back to trying the products I knew of and was comfortable with.

When my skin is going through a bad phase, I don’t want to be introducing new products that I don’t have a lot of trust in, in the fear that it may aggravate my skin further. Since I had used the tea tree range religiously at a time when my acne was bad in the past, I knew I could rely on it. I decided to pick up the three products that I felt would benefit me the most, and that I’d be using on a daily basis.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash – This face wash really gets into my pores and gives my face a good cleanser. The tea tree is so refreshing on the skin, and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. I use this face wash morning and night, followed by the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner. The toner is the perfect addition to the facial wash. The two work together really well in ensuring my face feels cleansed and smooth. Since using the toner I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my face staying matte for longer, and my face generally being less oily. Generally, using these two together my pores feel less clogged, my skin isn’t as oily, and my blemishes don’t seem as angry.

While I am also on a prescribed course of antibiotics and a topical treatment for my acne, I definitely feel that since introducing these products back into my skincare routine, my skin is feeling cleaner, and less angry.

A third product I’m loving for when I wear makeup is the Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. This was the product that I desperately wanted to get my hands on. One of the things I hate most about my acne prone skin, is my pores, and how they look when I try to wear makeup. This product is honestly such a life saver, it really helps to reduce the appearance of my pores and give me a smooth base to apply makeup to. I simply use a small amount as a primer and it’s makes such a difference in how my finished face looks. It doesn’t clog my pores nor have that horrible suffocating and uncomfortable feeling – it’s light, breathable and doesn’t contribute to any excess oiliness.

Have you tried the tea tree range from The Body Shop? If so, what are your thoughts?
